Sharjah, 20 March, 2017: Sharjah International Airport welcomed the new daily service of IndiGo Airline from Sharjah to Kozhikode on Monday, 20 March, 2017. Sharjah is the sixth international destination for the airline.
The inaugural flight was welcomed at Sharjah International Airport with a water-canon salute. Another ceremony was held at the First Class Lounge in the Airport Terminal to welcome the official inaugural flight from Kozhikode to Sharjah which was attended by H.E Sheikh Faisal bin Saoud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, along with Mr. Navneet Jaggi, Vice President Sales of Middle East, in addition to senior managers from both sides.
H.E Sheikh Faisal bin Saoud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority said: “We wish IndiGo Airline all the best in their new destination which offers more choices to Sub-continent bound travelers and those visiting India for business or tourism. He added, At Sharjah International Airport, we will continue to provide the best services and facilities to all carriers operating through the airport, ensuring their operations are smooth and efficient. With new flights from Sharjah to Kozhikode, the position of Sharjah as an industrial, trade and tourism destination in the region will become stronger and this service would further enhance the relationship between the two countries”.

IndiGo, India’s largest airline in terms of market share in India, the new flights are designed to cater to passengers traveling for business and pleasure and who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable flying options.
The new service was introduced on the 20th March, 2017. The inbound flight 6E-1403 departed from Kozhikode at 6:05AM and arrived in Sharjah at 8:20AM. The outbound flight 6E-1404 departed from Sharjah at 9:20AM and arrived in Kozhikode at 2:30PM.
