Sharjah Airport Authority participates in “UAE Innovation Week”

Sharjah, November 23, 2016: Sharjah Airport Authority is participating in the “UAE Innovation Week”, taking place between 20-24 November at the Sharjah Expo Centre. Everyone aspires to take advantage of the innovative achievements and initiatives that shape the future industry of the United Arab Emirates.The UAE Innovation Week is celebrated across the United Arab Emirates President as an embodiment of UAE President HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan declaration of 2015 as “The Year of Innovation, to help create and sustain a culture of innovation in the country.Guided by the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the spirit of innovation and excellence has been the driving spirit and fountain head of the progress and development of the Emirate of Sharjah.HE Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority attended part of the activities of the UAE Innovation Week, where highlighted the great support of H.H Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah provided to inventors and innovators to help position the UAE as a global hub of innovation.He expressed his pleasure on the all the participations showcasing creativity and innovations from public and private sectors.  He also encouraged the Emiratis to take part and celebrate the achievements of innovation throughout the year.Sharjah Airport Authority also hosted the smallest Emirati inventor, Fatima Al Kaabi, that has 12 inventions. She talked about her inventions, the inspiration and reasons behind them. She praised the support and encouragement that inventors enjoy in the country, especially from UAE leadership.Fatima Al Kaabi was the first to invent a Photographer Robot in 2012. She bagged first place in the Robot Olympics in UAE, and invented a printer for the visually impaired. Among her many inventions include a photographer robot, cheerleader robot and an electronic belt for the hearing impaired. She showcased “Braille Printer for the Blind” devise at the International White Cane Day celebrations.On the other hand, Sharjah Authority organized a workshop entitled: “Torrance Tests for Creative Thinking” which aims to stimulate innovation among employees and how innovation is important for the society and the world.
