Sharjah Airport Authority Distributes Thousands of Water Bottles to Mosques in the Emirate As part of their participation in Zayed Humanitarian Work Day

Sunday June 18th, 2017

In commemoration of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which falls on the 19th day of Ramadan every year, and in support of the UAE ‘Water Aid’ initiative, Sharjah Airport Authority distributed thousands of water bottles to mosques in different parts of the Emirate of Sharjah.

The initiative is part of a series of community initiatives carried out by Sharjah International Airport during the Holy month of Ramadan, including the distribution of thousands of free Iftar meals to travelers and customers, as well as staff working around the clock at the airport, along with many more initiatives aimed at promoting the principle of unity in the community, particularly during the Year of Giving.

Ms. Alya Obaid Al Shamsi, Director of Marketing and Customer Relations, commented: “Distributing water bottles to mosques is part of our social corporate responsibility to mark ‘Zayed Humanitarian Day’ which reflects the value of generosity and giving, characteristics deeply ingrained in the hearts of Emiratis. It also shows how we follow in the footsteps of the Founding Father of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May Allah rest his soul in peace), who instilled the humanitarian values in us”.

The initiative included the distribution of more than 12,000 water bottles to various mosques in the Emirate at Iftar time in an effort to meet the needs of worshippers during Ramadan, especially during the summer heat.
