Sharjah Civil Aviation Department and Sharjah Airport Authority marked UAE Flag Day with a staff ceremony, during which they raised the UAE flag at their headquarters. The ceremony was attended by HE Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, and representatives from the companies operating at Sharjah International Airport, who raised the flag at 11:00 am, while the UAE national anthem was played.
Speaking on the occasion, HE Sheikh Khalid bin Essam Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Civil Aviation Department, said: “Raising the UAE flag on this day, which commemorates the accession of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan (May Allah Protect him) to the presidency, symbolizes the link between the leadership and people, and is symbolic of the respect and pride all share in the UAE. There is no greater expression than raising the UAE flag everywhere across the nation, in celebration of the peoples’ loyalty to His Highness, the President of the UAE. We are celebrating today, the national achievements which have enabled the UAE to outperform so many countries in the world, thanks to the vision of our founding fathers and their wise leadership”
HE Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: “On this day, we renew our allegiance to our beloved nation and wise leadership to safeguard the achievements and gains of the UAE. Our nation is well-known for conveying the message of tolerance and love to the whole world. This message has remained the same since the days of our founding fathers, who united the country under one flag. UAE Flag Day represents our national values and reflects the unity, loyalty and solidarity of all our people.”
HE Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: “We gathered today to express our appreciation and support to the development process led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan (May Allah Protect Him) and his brothers the rulers of the Emirates. This initiative helped us to show our national pride and demonstrate the values of patriotism and loyalty to the UAE. We ask Allah the Almighty to continue blessing the UAE with safety and peace”.
Sharjah Airport Authority also distributed flags to the employees in celebration of the UAE Flag Day.
