Thursday October 12th, 2017

Sharjah Airport Authority launched its new property management system which manages the properties and retail spaces at the airport during Gitex Technology Week 2017, at Dubai World Trade Centre taking place between October 8-12. The system is interactive and accessible to all concerned parties and utilises detailed maps of the airport, terminals and spaces, and it is linked to the contracts and finance systems.

The airport, which is exhibiting at Sharjah Government Pavilion under the theme “History and Communication” also displayed it updated mobile applications. One app allows staff to communicate more easily and quickly with different departments, while a second application enables users to track the status of flights and check itinerary.

HE Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: “The Sharjah International Airport constantly strives to improve its services and processes to ensure effective and efficiently delivery for all. Therefore, it is striving to develop its smart and electronic services offered to staff, passengers and retail property customers. New and developed smart services are being introduced during Gitex Technology Week 2017, which is the ideal platform, as one of the most important technological exhibitions in the world, attended by both the private and public sector.”

Among the new and updated innovations Sharjah Airport Authority displayed at the exhibition was the website for the airport and private jet terminal; the smart passenger application which enables users to track the status of the flights and check the itinerary and three-dimensional maps for the airport, showing all the services and facilities inside the airport.

Al Midfa added that Sharjah International Airport’s participation at Gitex reflects its continuous commitment to enhance its collaboration with government entities in the Emirate and to develop best practices. “We seek to adopt the standards of corporate excellence locally and internationally, so that we improve the competitiveness of the Emirate in all areas, in line with the goals of E-Government of providing services to customers easily and quickly around the clock,” he said.
