Sharjah International Airport showcases its latest cargo services at Freight Forwarders Forum in Singapore

Sharjah Airport Authority  in collaboration with Singapore Airlines Cargo organized on 29 and 30 January, 2015  a Forum for Cargo and Freight Forwarders based in Singapore, to introduce the latest services and facilities provided by the Sharjah International Airport, as well as presenting the master plan of developing the airport which includes new opportunities for the companies aimed at enabling them to take appropriate decisions and encourage them to choose Sharjah International Airport as a freight destination  via Singapore Airlines Cargo.This forum compliments the first forum, which was held last year. His Excellency Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, who headed the delegation to Singapore highlighted in his presentation the airport’s vision, mission and policies, and its plans for the coming years. HE also gave an insight into the services and facilities provided by the freight centre which meets the expectations and requirements of the international freight agents including modern technology solutions that have been developed and introduced, such as e-Clearance cargo portal, e-service and transporting the shipments across the country’s airports, which is the latest service provided by Sharjah International Airport and the Freight Centre.For its part Singapore Airlines Cargo also made a presentation on its merits and services before an audience of representatives of cargo and freight forwarding companies, which allow them to expand their activities and operations through Sharjah. The Forum witnessed also separate meetings with air freight agents.Mr. Al Midfa extended his thanks to the participants and welcomed any suggestions that will contribute to strengthen the cooperation between two countries, and make them consider Sharjah International Airport an important gateway to the Gulf region and the Middle East.Separately at a luncheon between the delegations of the Sharjah International Airport and Singapore Airlines Cargo, Mr. Al Midfa met with the President of Singapore Airlines Cargo, Mr. CHIN Yau Seng, in the presence of a number of senior officials of the two delegations, during which he discussed the prospects of joint cooperation for the benefit of all parties, especially that the two countries enjoy great potential in this sector.Singapore Airlines Cargo currently operates 12 regular flights dedicated to transporting freight from Singapore via the Freight Centre in Sharjah International Airport. The Freight Centre also provides services for many of the air cargo companies and to various destinations in the world.
