Sharjah Airport Authority Chairman H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfa met yesterday withAlan Lamond, British Aviation Group Vice Chairman, and a delegation from UK Trade & Investment, to discuss mutual interests and ways to strengthen business relations. The meeting explored opportunities in boosting the cooperation and exchange of expertise between Sharjah International Airport and British firms operating in the aviation and freight sectors,  for future collaboration. H.E Ali Salim Al Midfa introduced the delegation on the services, facilities and business environment in Sharjah International Airport.  In addition to the Freight Center offering extensive facilities and services with international standards, many British companies can consider it as a platform for launching their businesses in the region without any hassle. He added: ”Sharjah has a strategic location, which attracts British companies who are seeking to enhance their business investment opportunities and looking for a strong foothold from which to promote distribution in the Middle East”.UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) is visiting UAE to enable businesses to explore commercial opportunities and gain experience and insight into what it considers to be a lucrative market. The market visits provide participants with unique access to high-quality information, business contacts and officials it would be virtually impossible to achieve alone.Aviation sector is one of several that hold potential for British companies because of the massive investment being made by airlines and airports in UAE. Goods and services to aircraft and airports are going to grow enormously over the next decade.
