Sharjah, 3 Nov, 2014: Sharjah International Airport, yesterday (Monday) joined the citizens and residents of the UAE in celebrating the country’s Flag Day.As a key highlight of the celebrations, the UAE flag was hoisted in front of the airport management’s building in the presence of Sharjah Airport Authority and Department of Civil Aviation’s staff.On this occasion, HE Sheikh Khalid Bin Essam Al Qasimi, Chairman of Department of Civil Aviation, Sharjah said :”Today we celebrated the history of a flag which was raised since the establishment of our beloved country. It is a symbol of love, goodness and fulfillment, and the desire of the founder our father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, for our state to be one that helps the weak and the needy people, and an example of giving for the whole world. We should on this day lend a hand of loyal to our leadership the government of the United Arab Emirates, led by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God protect him, and his brother rulers of other emirates. We pray to God to perpetuate the security and safety to our beloved country.The UAE flag to mark the day His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was elected President of the UAE, in response to the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai to raise the Flag of the Country in various entities concurrently at 12:00 PM on 3rd of November2014.The UAE Flag day offers UAE citizens and residents the opportunity to show their loyalty to the prudent UAE leadership and leaders. Also the UAE Flag day marks a very special occasion that celebrates UAE’s achievements in the various areas and walks of life.The country’s flag is a symbol of our unity and reflects the greatness and achievements of the leadership. The citizens of the UAE are joined with one voice in support of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. We pray that God protects him and he continues to lead us well into the future with his far-sighted vision and wisdom. Under his leadership, our country has achieved great success on the global stage.
