Sharjah International Airport has celebrated the occasion of ‘Haq Al Laila’ the mid- of Shaban. The celebration aims to promote national identity and acquaint people with the heritage of the past with a view to keep this tradition alive in the modern times. As part of the celebration, children’s wearing traditional dress distributed sweets and nuts to employees, travelers and airport users, and rendered special traditional songs as well. Sharjah International Airport management also organised a lunch gathering for all the staff of the Sharjah Airport Authority and Department of Civil Aviation at the management building.HE Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said:” Organizing such events highlights the airport’s keenness on reliving inherited legacies, celebrating the original Emirati traditions and instilling them into esteems of young and children. These efforts come within the framework of social responsibility, to involve in public events particularly the inherited occasions of the country, which reflect moral values and family solidarity, bringing joy and delight in the hearts of everybody”.He explained that this popular traditional celebration is an opportunity for the airport to express happiness for the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, which fosters social bonding and reflects the true meaning of the holy month.The occasion of Haq Al Laila is a distinguished tradition to which the UAE society has been celebrating for years by exchanging visits and warm wishes, while distributing sweets to children bringing about joy and delight in their hearts.
