Sharjah Civil Aviation and Sharjah Airport Authority celebrate UAE National Day

In commemoration of the 50th UAE National Day, the Department of Civil Aviation in Sharjah and the Sharjah Airport Authority yesterday (Monday) hosted a special celebration in the presence of HE Sheikh Khalid bin Essam Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation Sharjah, His Excellency Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, and His Excellency Sheikh Faisal Bin Saoud Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, as well as officials, representatives from government departments, stakeholders and employees.

Commemoration of achievements
The celebration took place in front of the airport management building opening with the national anthem, as folklore activities and folk band performances took place. The participants were treated with traditional dishes and sweets, several fun competitions were organized for employees.

HE Sheikh Khalid Issam Al Qassimi, Chairman of Department of Civil Aviation, Sharjah, said: “This year’s National Day celebration has a special and exceptional feature that confirm the pride of our country, and the great achievements it has gained over five decades. On the occasion of the UAE’s Golden Jubilee, we recall, with gratitude, the efforts of our founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his late brothers the members of the Supreme Council, whose unstinting efforts led to the upholding of the principles of a country of which we are all proud and defend its sovereignty. We are inspired by their vision and wise philosophy in making the UAE an oasis of unity, pride, dignity, tolerance and brotherhood, hosting people from different nationalities and cultures, and a model of excellence, leadership and innovation”.

HE Ali Salim Al Midfa said: “We extend to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, may God protect him, and their Highnesses, members of the Supreme Council and rulers of the Emirates, and to the honorable people of the Emirates, the highest congratulations and blessings on the occasion of the UAE’s 50th National Day. This occasion represents the rise of a nation that was founded on the highest human principles, and has become a homeland for tolerance, benevolence and giving, as well as for achieving great accomplishments, thanks to the unity between the leadership and the people. All this places the UAE among the most advanced and developed countries in the world.”

His Excellency added: “Today, Sharjah Airport has become a unique model of leadership and excellence, and we are ready to embark on our next journey as we move towards the country’s centenary. We look forward to doubling our efforts and continuing to devise smart and flexible strategies in line with the rapid changes that the world is witnessing, to achieve more qualitative achievements to contribute to a brighter future.”

A global model to follow
HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Saoud Al Qasimi, said that the UAE’s 50th National Day represents the culmination of half a century of successive achievements, started by the founding fathers, in whose footsteps the wise leadership is following, leading to prosperity and happiness for all people and residents and making the state a global model in tolerance, security, and safety.

His Excellency pointed out that this year’s celebration is of great significance as it represents the country’s golden jubilee and embodies national unity and unity, adding that the UAE is at the forefront of returning life to normal, and continuing construction and development to reach a more pioneering and distinguished future.

Point of pride
At the conclusion of the ceremony, employees of both the Department of Civil Aviation in Sharjah and the Sharjah Airport Authority expressed their pride in the achievements of the country in the past fifty years and conveyed gratitude and appreciation to the country’s wise leadership, who has provided them with everything needed to achieve happiness, and who always makes their security, safety, and prosperity the utmost priority.
