A delegation from Sharjah Airport Authority, headed by H.E Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, and H.E Sheikh Faisal Bin Saoud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, visited the 13th Sharjah Biennial, one of the most prominent art exhibitions held in the UAE and the region, which is being held under the theme “Tamawuj” at the Sharjah Art Foundation. The purpose of the visit was to observe the artwork on display and enhance cooperation with the biennial organisers and participating artists.
H.E Ali Salim Al Midfa said: “The authority’s visit to the exhibition is part of our strategy and commitment to strengthen cooperation and partnership with various governmental and semi-governmental bodies, and to keep abreast with cultural and artistic events that are organised and hosted by the Emirate and to communicate with its organisers and participants.”
H.E stressed the importance of raising the artistic and cultural value of employees by introducing them to different works of art at the biennial’s exhibitions and activities and to highlight the role of art in combining different cultures in one language to facilitate better cultural communication.
The delegation visited the Calligraphy Square, the Art Square, Sharjah Art Foundation and Al Mureijah Square. The visit’s programme included a number of activities, where members of the delegation explored various forms of fine arts and sculptures among others.
