Sharjah, 25 Jan, 2017: Sharjah Airport Authority and Sharjah City Municipality held a meeting on Sunday that discussed future plans to develop various airport services to monitor food retail outlets and strict compliance to the food safety regulations and it has been presented the health service provided by the medical center at the airport.
The meeting was held at the DCA/SAA building attended by H.E Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, H.E Thabit Salim AlAlTarifi, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality, Sheikha Dr. Rasha Al Qassimi, Deputy Director General of Public Health and Central Laboratories,Sheikha Shatha Al Mualla, Director of the Public Health Department and Mr. Mousa Abdulsattar Al Azzawi, Head of Public Health Clinic.
HE Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority welcomed the guests and highlighted the importance of discussing current issues to ensure high service standard is maintained by all parties operating at the airport and to raise the food safety awareness among food and beverage outlets on the food safety.
He added: “Sharjah International Airport is witnessing steady growth, and recorded more than 11 million passengers on 2016. The airport is working according to a strategic plan to welcome more passengers in the coming years, which requires the provision of the best services and facilities for them. Moreover, to ensure that all public safety and food safety awareness standards are considered very well in future expansion projects of the airport”.
He expressed his appreciation to the Sharjah City Municipality on the continuous strong collaboration with Sharjah International Authority, along with its dedication to implement the highest standards of quality and food safety, as part of the ongoing efforts to reflect the developed image the Emirate of Sharjah.
H.E Thabit Salim Al Al Tarifi, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality, said that the municipality is very keen to join hands with all government entities to enhance the position of the emirate, to promote prosperity and enhance the welfare of Emiratis. He pointed out that the municipality expressed its full readiness and ability to collaborate with Sharjah Airport Authority to implement the highest quality standards of hygiene and food safety in food and beverage outlets at the airport.
He assured that the municipality is always ready to provide the necessary support that will benefit the airport’s services and facilities particularly in the areas of food safety and public health.
The Director General of Sharjah City Municipality thanked the airport officials for their eagerness to exchange insights and ideas that contribute to the upgrade of services provided to the public and support the process of renaissance in our country.
