Sharjah, 12 Feb, 2017: In the presence of H.E Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan bin Khalid Al Qassimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations in Sharjah, H.E Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, received H.E Paul Fox, British Consul General of Dubai and Northern Emirates. The meeting was also attended by H.E Sheikh Faisal bin Saoud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority along with Sharjah Airport Authority officials and senior management.

During the meeting, held at the airport management building, mutual interests like new ways to strengthen business relationships between the countries and plans to exchange expertise between Sharjah International Airport and British firms operating in aviation were discussed. Freight sector and future collaborations were also spoken about.

H.E Ali Salim Al Midfa welcomed the delegation and pointed out that British companies operating in Sharjah and specifically in SIA are high end companies that contribute majorly to the city’s economy. In addition to that, the UAE and UK have developed stronger economic ties in recent years reflecting positively on the growth in trade and investments in both countries. H.E Ali Salim Al Midfa welcomes all new business opportunities and encourages investments while assuring facilitating those investments

The British Consul General thanked Sharjah International Airport’s Management for its continuous efforts to strengthen the relationship between the two countries, as well as for the support it provides to British companies. Especially the ones seeking enhancement of their business investment opportunities and looking for a strong foothold from which to promote good growth in the Middle East.
