Sharjah, 16 Oct,2016: Sharjah, 15 Oct,2016: Sharjah Airport Authority has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Sharjah to strengthen cooperation between two parties through a strategic plan that develop skills using the best practices and promote collaboration in scientific research and studies, and special programmes.
The MoU was signed by HE Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority and Dr. Hamid Mjul Al Nuaimi, Director of Sharjah University, in presence of H.E Sheikh Faisal bin Saoud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority,Engineer Lamia Obaid Al Shamsi, Director of Support Services, Ms. Alia Obaid Al Shamsi, Director of Marketing and Customer Relations, Ms. Alia Hamad Al Zari , event management officer, Prof. Dr. Muammer Beltayeb , Vice Director of the University for Research and High Studies, Prof. Dr. Adnan SarhanAssistant of director of the University for the branches, and Prof. Dr. Bashar Hekmat Malkawi, Dean of the Faculty of law.
HE Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: “We are delighted to collaborate with the University of Sharjah, which will contribute to the cooperation between us in training, qualifying the human resources, encourage innovation, enhance scientific studies and research, as well as sharing of information and practices”.
He added:” This MOU aims to develop an integrated training plan that will enhance the performance level of the staff and encourage research in various fields of work. It also includes discussion of best practices in airport’s departments and sections, best training standards to improve the quality of services and to develop and enhance the efficiency and capabilities of the airport’s staff. There will be an opportunity for the distinguished graduates within specific specialties to work at Sharjah International Airport.”
Dr. Hamid Mjul Al Nuaimi, Director of Sharjah University, said: “The signing of this MOU with Sharjah Airport Authority is an important step for the University of Sharjah and enhances its responsibility to meet the requirements of one of the important pillars of its mission towards developing the community. This MoU supports the University’s mission, as set by H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, since the beginning.
He added: “Sharjah International Airport has achieved solid progress through the years, this collaboration will provide global and modern joint scientific research, courses, and workshops, in addition to local, regional and global conferences that will be held in the framework of this cooperation.
He said that by the grace of God, and with the keenness of the university president His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, the University of Sharjah has all the tools, standards and components that enable it to cope with the requirements of this cooperation, in terms of academic programs, particularly higher studies, including Masters program in aerospace engineering, masters program in space technology, among others, in addition to the modern infrastructure that includes laboratories, equipment and devices. Highly qualified faculty members, above all, the quality standards and excellence at the forefront of all goals at the university.
Under the MoU, there will be an integrated strategic training plan within the human resource requirements of the Sharjah Airport Authority, that include the best standards of training in achieving development and growth and raise the efficiency and capabilities of staff of SAA. The memorandum also supports and enhances the innovation, scientific studies and research, as well as to share the information in these areas: Airport Management, Security and Safety.
