Commemoration’s Day, which takes place on 30 November each year, was commemorated by the Department of Civil Aviation in Sharjah and the Sharjah Airport Authority on Tuesday. To honor and remember those who sacrificed their lives to preserve the country’s security and sovereignty, employees observed a minute of silence.
To commemorate the occasion, the UAE flag was raised and the national anthem sung in the presence of His Excellency Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, and His Excellency Sheikh Faisal Bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, as well as a number of officials and representatives from government and private agencies working at the airport.
In 2015, 30 November was designated as Commemoration’s Day, in accordance with the decision issued by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God protect him, in order to honor and commemorate the nation’s martyrs and its righteous sons for their loyalty and sacrifices in performing their national tasks and duties.
