Sharjah, 5 December, 2015: In line with the UAE 44th National Day Celebrations, Sharjah International Airport is decorated with the flag colours, as various activities take place in the airport terminal. Passengers are invited be part of the festivities and enjoy traditional live band performance, free henna drawings, face painting, photo booth, Arabic coffee and dates; and receive National Day giveaways.H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said:” Sharjah International Airport is proud to celebrate the UAE 44th National Day as we continue to promote our country and its heritage, its tradition and history to all passengers traveling through the airport”.He mentioned that the organized events and activities are aimed to showcasing the love of the UAE people to their homeland, and their loyalty to the country’s leadership. With the UAE being home to many expatriates and constantly receiving a large number of visitors from around the world, the celebrations will give them an opportunity to learn about the UAE’s glorious and colourful past and revered traditions.The UAE National Day is a celebration of the joining of seven emirates under the rule of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first president of the UAE and father of the nation. The UAE has since seen unprecedented growth for one of the youngest nations in the world, and established itself as the region’s business, trading and tourism hub.
