In The occasion of Emirati Children’s Day SAA gives children the opportunity to participate in airport operations

To celebrate Emirati Children’s Day, which falls on March 15th, Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) has granted the children of SAA staff an opportunity to take part in performing some of the duties of SAA employees. This will enable them to get acquainted with the work procedures and encourage them to communicate with the customers and passengers, as well as to motivate them to take charge.

The children participated in this initiative got the chance to serve passengers in different departments, including: the passenger’s reception department, the receipt and stamping of passports at the check-in platform, the passport control platform, the customs check-in, and other different services. They were able to compete for serving SIA users and perform the tasks required from them in an atmosphere similar to the conditions under which the SIA staff work.

HE Ali Salim Al-Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said that Emirati Children’s Day is a national occasion to celebrate the achievements of the UAE in the field of child care and its protection, support and empowerment of children. The UAE provides the best health and educational systems, which contribute to the growth, progress and prosperity children and the future of the country.

HE Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, stressed that organising this event for Emirati Children’s Day emphasises the importance of supporting, encouraging and enabling children to experience the environment in which their parents work every day. This made the children happy and gave them the opportunity to connect with a large number of customers from different nationalities. In addition, the event has created a sense of responsibility in themselves.

Emirati Children’s Day is an initiative launched by the Mother of the UAE, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, President of the Family Development Foundation, as part of the National Strategy for Motherhood and Childhood 2017-2020.

March 15th of each year was adopted to mark this day, in conjunction with the adoption of the Child Protection Law on March 15th, 2016, to emphasise the UAE’s keenness to nurture future generations, which is in line with the UAE Vision 2021.
