Department of Civil Aviation and Sharjah Airport Authority celebrated UAE Flag Day

Sharjah, 6 Nov, 2016: Sharjah International Airport Authority & Sharjah Civil Aviation celebrated the UAE Flag Day on (Thursday), in line with the initiative announced by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to commence a national campaign to celebrate ‘Flag Day’ every 3rd of November, to coincide the anniversary of the accession of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as president of the UAE.A flag raising ceremony was held in front of the airport management’s building to mark the occasion in the presence of HE Sheikh Khalid bin Issam Al Qassimi – Chairman of   Department of Civil Aviation, HE Ali Salim Al Midfa – Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Thani – Director of  Department of Civil Aviation and HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Saoud Al Qassimi – Director of Sharjah Airport Authority along with Sharjah Airport Authority, Department of Civil Aviation, governments entities and stakeholders staff .HE Sheikh Khalid bin Essam Al Qassimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation in Sharjah, stated:” The Flag Day sets a number of values led by national unity embodied in the flag which represents the unity of the seven Emirates under one leadership, which strengthens the bonds of loyalty and belonging among members of the community. Celebrating the accession anniversary of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the presidency, makes us proud of the UAE leader and his efforts to provide its citizens with a dignified and a decent life”.HE Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority stated:”The celebration of Flag Day embodies the patriotism and unity. As we gather all the emirates around the flag of the UAE and sing the national anthem reaffirms our loyalty to the country. We at Sharjah International Airport pursue a process of strengthening our national identity and set the foundations of loyalty to our nation and leaders.”
