Sharjah, 20 April 2016: Atlasglobal Airlines commenced its newest non-stop service between Sharjah and Istanbul with Airbus A320.Atlasglobal launched the new destination with a special event held at Sharjah International Airport with the attendance of HE. Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, HE. Shaikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Thani, Director Department of Civil Aviation, HE. Marwan Al Sarkal, CEO of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority and Ms. Semra Erener, CCO of Atlasglobal Airlines including senior heads of departments from both entities.HE Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority stated:” We wish Atlasglobal Airlines all the best. We are pleased to welcome this new service which will link Sharjah with Istanbul as we continue on promoting Sharjah as a tourism destination. Sharjah International Airport is a strategic choice for many airlines, thanks to the airport’s efficiency of operations, making it easier for our partners to serve their customers in the region”.HE Sheikh Faisal bin Saoud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: “We at Sharjah International Airport continue to provide the best services and facilities to all carriers operating through the airport, ensuring their smooth and efficient operations for the ease and comfort of our mutual customers. This flight inauguration from Istanbul will strengthen the position of Sharjah as an industrial, trade and tourism destination in the region and it will maintain and further enhance the strong relations between the two countries”.President of Atlasglobal Airlines Murat Ersoy in his statement about the new destination emphasized that Sharjah International Airport, had gained more attention for its ease of travel and for its growing potentials.Atlasglobal Airlines will be launching 7 flights a week from Istanbul Ataturk International Airport to Sharjah International Airport.It is important to mention that Sharjah International Airport hosted 71,426 flights in 2015 while providing services to more than 10 million passengers.
