Sharjah International Airport received pilgrims returning from the Holy Land of Mecca, yesterday, amid a festive atmosphere to celebrate their performance of Haj (pilgrimage) rituals and safe return to the UAE.

Officials and employees of Sharjah International Airport Authority distributed gifts to the returning pilgrims and facilitated entry procedures through the smart gates, where special platforms were allocated to serve pilgrims with a view to ensuring the quick completion of procedures, in addition to complimentary baggage handling.

H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah International Airport Authority, congratulated the pilgrims on their performance of the Haj (pilgrimage) rituals and on their safe return. He emphasized that all appropriate actions and preparations have been taken to facilitate the return of the pilgrims in cooperation with the strategic partners of the Authority, which coordinated with all airlines and operating bodies working in Sharjah International Airport in order to facilitate the arrival procedures and exert all efforts to ensure easy and smooth procedures.

The Pilgrims expressed their great happiness and deep thanks to the competent authorities in Sharjah International Airport for their reception and warm hospitality, and appreciated the efforts of government agencies operating at Sharjah International Airport, which were put place for the returning pilgrims, amid an integrated system of services provided and supervised by Sharjah International Airport Authority.
