Sharjah Airport Authority has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on service level standards with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, in a strategic step that reflects the depth and integration of the institutional partnership between the two entities. Aims to applying the highest standards of service and operations, by ensuring the continuous readiness of human resources around the clock, enhancing the efficiency of passport control operations, and adopting proactive approaches to managing peak periods, thereby accelerating passenger procedures and improving their overall experience.
The signing ceremony took place at the Sharjah Airport Authority, where the MoU was signed by His Excellency Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, and His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Kuwaiti, Acting Director General of Ports at the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of the Authority, along with a number of senior officials from both entities.
His Excellency Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, affirmed that the Memorandum of Understanding represents a strategic step within ongoing efforts to develop the integrated operational ecosystem at Sharjah Airport. This is achieved by enhancing operational efficiency and strengthening coordination with partners, contributing to the delivery of a seamless travel experience that meets passengers’ expectations.
His Excellency added: “This MoU reflects a strategic partnership between Sharjah Airport Authority and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, where both entities operate within a unified system in which roles and efforts are fully integrated. This contributes to achieving a shared objective of enhancing the passenger experience. This collaboration also aims to improve the smooth flow of procedures and align operational efforts, ensuring the delivery of integrated services that meet passengers’ expectations.”
His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Kuwaiti emphasised the importance of signing the MoU in achieving quality standards and institutional governance in operational processes, contributing to passenger happiness and providing a safe, seamless, and comfortable travel experience. He also highlighted its role in reinforcing the UAE’s leadership in travel and tourism and supporting global mobility.
He noted that Sharjah Airport represents a strategic component and a key player within the UAE’s national travel ecosystem, as well as a prominent hub at regional and international levels, underscoring the significance of this partnership.
